In February, this year’s Bark beelte conference was held in Linköping and Arboair was there to receive the latest information about the bark beetle season of 2020 that we are now entering. Last year, these attacks on Swedish forestry cost around SEK 4 billion in timber value losses.
In order to reduce the attacks, it is important not to miss inspecting yours forest in time. Between May and August we usually see fresh attacks. Ideally, you should inspect your forest several times a month during this period to be able to take action. It is also important that now, in time, keep track of wind traps, this is where the bark beetle propagates. We at Arboair are developing future inspecting tools where our users will be able to press a button and scan their entire forest directly with the help of a drone and our app on your phone or tablet. Follow our development either here on our website or through our LinkedIn
